How to Block people in Google Drive?

In recently, Google Drive is adding the ability for the more users to block other accounts from sharing files with them, in a move that’s designed to prevent potential harassment or spam on the platform. The latest feature, which is rolling out over the upcoming in two weeks, also stops accounts from accessing for any types of files you have shared with them in the past, and removes any of their past files from your drive.

Drive’s sharing capabilities fuel productivity or collaboration, but bad actors can abuse tools that are meant to facilitate helpful sharing, Google’s announcement post. How to block people on Google Drive

You can block random Drive users from your desktop only via for the web browser; this feature isn’t yet available for Android and iOS apps. To block people on Google Drive such as:

  1. Open Google Drive in your browser.
  2. Go to the ‘Shared with me’ tab
  3. You will see all the files shared with you in the right panel.
  4. Go to the shared file from the user you want to block.
  5. Right-click and select “Block (username)”

How to unblock someone from Google Drive

If, you have blocked someone by mistake and now want to unblock them, you can easily do that in just for clicks.

  1. Go to drive.google.com.
  2. At the top right corner of your screen, click your profile picture and go to Manage your Google Account.
  3. Click People and sharing, scroll down, and go to Blocked.
  4. Open the list and you can see all the blocked users there.
  5. Go to the username you want to unblock and click just on the X button.
